Welcome Spike!!!

Our little family has grown by one!  Our newest addition, Spike, is a Bearded Dragon.  They grow about 17 - 24 inches, but the body is about the size of your hand.  They eat lots of insects as babies, but eat mostly veggies you can grow as adults so we won't have to buy crickets all the time.  I was not enthused to hear that they last 20 years, but seeing as our frog did not last the projected 5 years, we might be safe.  :)  These lizards are called the cats of the lizard world - only nicer!  They like to be handled.  They are very calm, walk on a leash and show affection.  They even wave their arms at you!  He is pretty tiny right now, but he should grow pretty fast the first two years.  Welcome Spike!
