Crosscountry #4 - San Francisco

After Crater Lake we drove to a hotel just outside Crater Lake. The next day we dropped our truck off at Angela and Austin's house in San Francisco and went to see Alcatraz! This is a picture of some of the windows. Apparently, the prisoners could hear regular people talking and laughing on the San Francisco Bay while they themselves were sitting in little cells in Alcatraz, especially on New Year's Day. John locked up...

This is one of the cells from the most famous escape attempt from Alcatraz. Prisoners used spoons to dig out the vent and climb through the piping behind their cells. The escapees were never found.

After Alcatraz we went to Fisherman's Wharf (Pier 39). These are the famous sea lions that hang out at Pier 39. Apparently, boats used to dock here, but the sea lions kicked them out. People tried to move them, but they just barked angrily.

Matthew actually asked to ride the carousel. Usually we drag him.

We had fun with hats while waiting for our ride home. Nemo, Watch out for the shark!
