Father's Day Fishing Trip

What a great day to go fishing! It is still a bit chilly here, but the sun was out! We went to Cranberry Lake. It is a a freshwater lake that at one point is mere feet from the ocean. John used to come fishing here with his parents most weekends when he was about Matthew's age. Matthew picked out a kid-sized Transformers fishing pole. He LOVED it. We didn't catch any fish, but Matthew was just as excited about reeling in his line. Here, Mommy is helping him reel in the bobber. Now Daddy is helping. Cheese!

We couldn't find any worms in the stores, but someone conveniently left some on the dock for us. Matthew REALLY liked the worms. Mommy still remembers how to put a worm on a hook!



This is one of Dad's fake fish for bait. Matthew thought it looked like a worm and really loved playing with it. He carried it around with him for several hours.
We spent about five hours at the lake, but Matthew never got bored.

Andy enjoyed our outing, but I'm not sure he understood what we were doing.
