June Hiking

Hiking on Mt. Charleston. It was much, much cooler up there! Definitely not 110 degrees! :)

So, the hike started well. We got this hiking book for the area around Vegas. We started on the trail for Mary Jane Falls, but veered off to go to Big Falls. The guide said it was appropriate for children.

Unfortunately, the trail got REALLY treacherous about here. It was so steep, I was very nervous about getting down with Abby on my belly, and John said the top was very close to the edge. We turned around to go the second way through the wash.

Unfortunately, the wash had these huge boulders to climb. It was too far to be able to do with kids on the back and belly. The guide said they were class two boulders. Apparently, class three is climbing on hands and knees and four and five require ropes! We will be sticking to class one from now on...

Matthew loved the boulder hopping. :)

I never get tired of watching them sleep in silly positions.
