Abby

Abby is growing like crazy! She is about 16 lbs now and is learning to do all sorts of things. She can sit pretty well and hold onto stuff while standing (although she still lets go when she is excited or distracted). She hates to lay on her stomach b/c of the tube and only rolls one way as a result, but she can scoot on her back - watch out head - or while she is sitting. It's funny to watch. I'm trying to teach her to go from a crawl (hands and knees) to a sit so she can skip the scoot stage altogether and not bother her tube site. She fights sleep like Matthew, but she shows signs of getting over it faster than him. She is a talker!! Whenever she gets upset and refluxes, she says, "Mama mama mama". John thinks she is trying to say "Dada", but can't b/c of teh speech impediment. haha! Her newest thing is that she loves to tackle table legs. If she is laying next to one she really goes at it!

We are learning a bit about Abby's disposition. She has such a sweet disposition. You can see her big smile in the previous posts. Whenever we are out somewhere, she looks for ppl to pay attention to her. Whenever they look at her she just busts out a HUGE grin and everyone melts. We'll be at the commissary and everyone is generally grouchy, but when Abby hugs her toes and smiles at them, they all perk up considerably. She is a little joy giver. She really just loves to make ppl smile. At library story time Abby shows another side of her. She gets so excited about everything that goes on that it is impossible to keep her still or hush her. She sits there bouncing around and chuckling to herself. It is soooo cute! Everyone asks me if she is always that happy (she is) and one lady said, "The party is wherever that baby is." I agree. She is going to be a lively little girl!
