Peace and Quiet at an Alpine Lake

After the busy and emotional week we had (we got to stay with the family for Grandma Irma's funeral), we went to a beautiful alpine lake for some hiking. I admit I was a bit grumpy about being out so late with the kids again, but I shouldn't have been. Sometimes, it is easiest to feel comfort in God's presence in his great and beautiful creation. It was a beautiful hike. Apparently, this lake is one of the few? only? alpine lakes that you can actually drive to.

Matthew's favorite part of the hike was an owl that kept hooting. :) It was the first owl he has ever heard in the wild.
