Whale Watching

I've been wanting to see the San Juan Islands, and it was completely worth the trip! We took a ferry from Anacortes to the town of Friday Harbor and then a bus to this park called Lime Kiln State Park. This park is supposed to be one of the best land-based sites to watch whales in the world. Matthew is excited to see the whales!
My friend Christina (on the right) had her best friends, Abby and Ben, visiting. We had a great time together!

Mama got hungry, so we had a snacktime! Matthew kept climbing on the rocks. He was far from the dropoff, but it still freaked us out. Christina caught him by his feet once....

We finally saw all three pods of Orcas: J, K, and L with a day-old baby. We had to run to catch the bus back, but it was so worth the wait! Matthew actually missed the whales because he fell dead-asleep. He slept all the way through dinner but woke up for ice cream. He saw all the whale pictures at the park and on the ferry, so he was happy.
